Jack's Place - Edwards, Colorado

Jack's Place is a "Cancer Caring Home" with guest rooms and amenities designed to give comfort and care to patients undergoing cancer treatments at the neighboring Shaw Regional Cancer Center. R.A. Nelson led the charge to create a true community project: an unprecendented number of designers, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers donated significant time, money and/or talent to the construction of the center. Given the charitable nature of the project, R.A. Nelson absorbed several thousand dollars in change orders and gave back over $80,000 in fee. The project also came in significantly under budget, providing a "nest egg" of funds for future operating costs.
